405th.com is the best place! It’s a bit disorganized but there’s lots of good resources on there.
I would also recommend looking up other people’s builds and seeing what they do. As the 405th’s maintenance has fallen by the wayside, personal sites have taken up the slack of documenting and putting up tutorials.
Try to figure out how you want to approach the task, since it’ll affect what skills and techniques you want to learn. Working with EVA/Craft foam using pepakura templates is a really beginner friendly method, with a minimum of equipment needed to get started.
